Shine Armor Fortify Quick Coat Ceramic Waterless Wash, Shine & Protect: What is It, and How Can You Use It for Your Car Shine Armor

For many of us, our cars are our top priorities--our babies even for some of us. We take care of our vehicles as best we can, ensuring that they look their best, and wanting to get them the best wax or coating products to protect their gleaming coats of paint.

But wax just isn’t powerful enough for some cars, especially those that have top-tier coats of paint without a scratch on them. In these cases, Shine Armor Fortify is a better pick. As a ceramic coating, it can protect your car over the long-term much better than even the best wax could.

Let’s break down Shine Armor Fortify and look at everything it can do once applied to your car.

What Is Shine Armor Fortify?

Shine Armor Fortify is a type of ceramic coating, which is a kind of wax alternative. Let’s get technical.

To be specific, ceramic coating is an advanced, nano-particle-based technology that forms a protective layer or coating over your car’s finish. Sounds similar to wax, right? But ceramic coating uses special ceramic particles to offer an even tougher defense and a longer-lasting bond between the coating and the particles of your vehicle’s finish.

The result? A hydrophobic or water-resistant layer that can't be washed away with water, rain, or even soap, and a barrier against scratches, dirt, debris, oil, tar, and any other contaminant you can think of.

Our Fortify Quick Coat does exactly that. It uses special polymers and bonding materials to connect with your car’s finish and create a shield against potential damage or dirt. But that’s actually just the beginning.

Unlike many other ceramic coatings, Shine Armor Fortify can also clean your car as you apply it! Since it comes in a spray-on canister, all you have to do is spray Shine Armor Fortify on your car, take a microfiber, or similarly soft cloth, then rub it away a few minutes later.

Without getting too technical, the ceramic and waterless cleaning technology can cut through dirt and grease upon contact. It binds with those dirty contaminants and, when you wipe away the wax product with your cloth, takes them with it. This results in a smooth and clean car surface that will make your car look like it just came out of a professional car detailing shop.

How To Use Shine Armor Fortify

Shine Armor Fortify is an excellent product because it’s easy to use. Unlike other types of wax or ceramic coating products, you don’t need to combine it with water, and you don’t need to buff it into your car’s surface using traditional elbow grease. Instead, just spray it on your car's finish and let it sit for a few minutes. Then wipe it away with a microfiber cloth. That's it!

You also don’t need to do any other steps to benefit from the cleaning and washing benefits mentioned above. It’s all accomplished with a single application.

Once applied, and after having cured properly, Shine Armor Fortify will last for between 2 and 3 months. This is akin to professional-quality ceramic coatings that a professional car detailing service would use.

Furthermore, there’s no risk of it stripping the paint off your vehicle or causing scratches or swirls by itself. In fact, you can apply Shine Armor Fortify directly to mild scratches or swirls that might have been left behind from your last waxing job and watch them disappear before your eyes. That’s because the formula’s compounds fill in the gaps left by scratches and debris, forming a smooth, protected surface that looks amazing.

Best Practices for Using Shine Armor Fortify

Although Shine Armor Fortify is a one-of-a-kind ceramic coating solution, there are still right and wrong ways to apply it to your car. Let’s break down some of the best practices to follow if you decide to give this formula a shot.

  • Always prepare your vehicle before applying a ceramic coating. While Shine Armor Fortify can wash through dirt and grease just fine, it’s still a smart idea to give your car a good washing beforehand. Be sure to dry everything thoroughly as well – even our formula won’t stick quite as well to your car if the finish is wet, compared to if you dry everything beforehand.
  • If you plan to use any kind of polish for your car, be sure to do that before applying Shine Armor Fortify. While this ceramic coating can do a great job at improving your coat’s shine and glossy aesthetic, it can’t replace a good polish.
  • Only apply ceramic coating in a protected environment. We’d recommend doing so inside of your garage or, at the very least, where your car has been kept out of direct sunlight for a few hours. Sunlight can quickly increase the surface temperature of a car, and a hot surface will cause the ceramic coating to bind improperly or dry out before it even begins to bind. The ideal temperature is between 50 and 70°F. The good news is that Shine Armor Fortify will stay on your car even under extreme heat after it has finished bonding to the finish.
  • Always apply the coating by focusing on one panel or section of your car at a time. Unlike with our spray-on wax, be sure to go a little more slowly so you’re sure to apply the coating evenly.

FAQs

How long will Shine Armor Fortify last once applied?

The Shine Armor Fortify coating will last for between 2 and 3 months, provided you apply it correctly. In some cases, it will even last longer – for instance, if you apply the coating to a showroom car that you don’t take out on the road very often. It should never wear off before 2 months, even under heavy contaminant exposure.

Why use Shine Armor Fortify over wax?

Wax, while great, doesn’t provide the same protective benefits as a great ceramic coating product. We think Shine Armor Fortify is best used for cars that have phenomenal paint jobs that you don’t want to be ruined for the foreseeable future. They’re also great for cars that you take out all the time, but that haven’t received any big scratches or corrosive damage yet.

Is Shine Armor Fortify harder to remove than wax?

Yes. That's because the polymers and other compounds in any type of ceramic coating will bond directly to the finish of your car. This is much harder to remove compared to regular wax products.

Can you wash your car once Shine Armor Fortify is applied?

Absolutely! In fact, Shine Armor Fortify and other ceramic coatings are even better for washing compared to regular wax. Any water or so you apply to your car will wash off easily without damaging the ceramic coating underneath.

How long do you need to wait after applying Shine Armor Fortify before taking it on the road?

We’d recommend storing your car for about 24 hours before exposing it to the elements. This gives the bonding polymers enough time to cure, and ensures that the seal is firm before water or other contaminants start bombarding your car’s surface.

Is using Shine Armor Fortify better than going to a traditional car detailing service?

In most cases, yes. There are a few times when it’s better to cough up the cash and visit a professional service, but Shine Armor Fortify works for all the other times to fill your ceramic coating needs.
