I’ve never had the easiest time trusting products online. I was raised in a small town where you could take what the other said or promised at face value with very few exceptions. And as you can imagine, my parents were the kind of folks who would NEVER in a million years trust the ‘interwebs’ as they called it.
Yeah, fun times, right…
But for better or for worse, those prejudices stuck with me to the point where even nowadays I’m hesitant to put my credit card information to make an online purchase.
The fact is, I’ve always been a fan of cars. I love the way they sound, the way they feel, and more importantly, the way they look. I have this 'old-fashioned" philosophy that says you can know a lot about a person just by the way his/her car looks.
And I’ve always wanted everyone else to say nice things about me. But I digress…
“....You can know a lot about a person just by the way his/her car looks. ”
What I didn’t know at the time is most salespeople have everything but your best interest in mind. ‘A commission by product referral’ was kind of a foreign concept for a small town guy like me, and certainly, this guy was in ‘advertising’ heaven when I fell head over heels for the car wax product he couldn’t shut up about.
Hey, if the man says it’s the best, and he has other customers, who am I to judge right?
“What I didn’t know at the time is most salespeople have everything but your best interest in mind.”
So, a few weeks go by and I noticed something in the paint of my car…
I felt a sudden need to break something.
I was angry (and rightfully so!). I was always careful enough to always use clean microfiber towels, I never tried to wash it on direct sunlight, and I made sure to cover my car from dust.
In fact, the whole reason I decided to find a detailer (and pay top dollar for the service) was to precisely avoid that nightmarish scenario!
Once I ruled out most of the possible causes behind those swirl marks, there was only one left...
Of course I knew cheap chemicals are your worst enemy when it comes to preserving your paint in pristine condition, however, never in a thousand years I imagined my detailer would try and scam me in such a way. As you can probably guess, this part of my life is called:
Needless to say, I got into an argument with him where he ‘graciously’ offered another detailing session for 60% the price. The nerve on this guy…
“Always ask for a clear and upfront ‘customer-satisfaction-guarantee’ valid for 30 days+, otherwise, RUN.”
So, after a few minutes googling the wrong names, I finally found it. And the shocking part to me wasn’t the angry reviews I found as much as the place I found them.
Everybody’s favorite buzzword: Amazon.
Personally, I had never bought anything on there. I had heard wonders about it, but the ‘interwebs’ gave me the creeps when it came to putting credit or debit card information. Thanks mom & dad…
Still, I figured the most popular online retailer had pretty strict guidelines in place in order to guarantee premium quality products for its customers. Again, thanks mom & dad…
It was unbelievable. This product (which shall remain nameless for eternity!) had some of the worst reviews I had ever read in my life, with people complaining about swirl marks and damage to their car paint in 80% of them. This product was basically corrosive acid sold in a nice presentation.
So, I was completely scammed, no doubt about it. Was there any hope to find a decent product for my car, let alone a detailer?
“This product was basically corrosive acid sold in a nice presentation.”
The good thing from my small town upbringing is that I quickly wiped my metaphorical tears and got on my feet in order to look for a solution.I wasn’t looking for a bargain. I was looking for a product that actually worked.
Oddly enough, after devoting a few hours into researching for a product that would give me my FULL money’s worth I stumbled upon a new buzzword:
It caught my eye not only for its flashy scientific name, but because of lot of people were raving about it in car detailing forums.
I’ll save you the need to research it yourself (lucky you!). Basically, Si02 technology is a form of waterless coating that protects, seals and cleans your car. It’s designed to give you a result that’s very close to a professional detailing process without having to spend a whole lot of money.
Not bad, right?
“It’s designed to give you a result that’s very close to a professional detailing process without having to spend a whole lot of money.”
I decided to take a big risk (a risk at least in my hometown), asked 2 of my friends if they’d be interested in taking part in my ‘detailing experiment’ and I ordered 3 different brands of products that contained Si02 technology in order to find a winner.
I finally found one that not only did what it promised, but was actually superior to the other 2 in every way (bear in mind, the other 2 proved to be good too!).
Why is it a winner? Well, there’s more than just one reason...
FORTIFY QUICK COAT does everything Si02 was designed for and more:
As great as this sounds, this time I did my homework and made sure this product stands the test of customer satisfaction in 2 fronts: Reviews and Guarantee. One of the main reasons I decided to pull the trigger with this product on my own car is because of what other people have to say about it. Take a look for yourself:
Application was really easy. Tried the bottle test on the hood and was amazed at how slick the finish was. Water runs right off every part I applied the shine armor quick coat. Highly recommended.
I’m in the detail business, I found this product to be great! The shine and the ease of installing it was great.
Next Gen Technology
After seeing Instagram videos about Shine Armor I figured I'd give it a try since I was starting to lose patience using wax on my car that never lasted long. Was I amazed when I applied the first coat of Shine Armor on my car! No water marks after rain and dirt just falls off after a power wash! Love this stuff. Insanely slick to the touch too! Bought a 3 pack.
This product is amazing. It cleans your entire vehicle and keeps it clean. I live in Arizona so dust is a constant issue. But with shine armor you can easily just wipe the dust off.
So there you go, this product gets the praise not only from regular customers like you and me, but also from detailers. It’s a winner when it comes to online word of mouth.
But what about the guarantee?
Well, Shine Armor knows that in order to create a lasting business, you need to stand behind your products 100%. For this reason they offer a 30 day money back guarantee for your own peace of mind.
Hands down, this product has not only proved great to make my car look amazing, but it has helped me get the confidence to start my own online shopping adventure. Can’t wait to tell mom and dad about my adventure in the ‘interwebs’...
